Our shop is located on the North Shore in Beaver bay, which is about 50 miles from Duluth on Highway 61. We are the last business in town. You will not be able to miss us with our big sign.

Hello and welcome to our website. The Beaver Bay Agate Shop has been in business since 1941 making it the oldest rock shop in all of America. We are a family owned business that specializes in Lake Superior Agate, Thomsonite, Merry Ellen Jasper, and Binghamite. Our shop carries a large variety of jewelry, rough/polished stones, carvings, spheres, lapidary equipment, fossils, beads, books, and many more one of a kind items. While on the shore you may find a beautiful stone that you would like turned into jewelry. Keith has been creating jewelry for over 15 years and would love to turn that special stone into something you can wear. He works in both Sterling Silver and 14kt gold. We also offer wire wrapping and face polishing.

Uffda! Where in the world did summer go?!? With Fall coming in and Winter following, our hours change with it. We will be closing Tuesday and Wednesday's until May 2026. January and February 2026 we will be closed down for 1 to 2 months. To fill for the change in hours, we are working on having an auction every month starting in November. With even more change happening we have our Two Harbors location on idle for now. Jessica and her family is in the process of moving back to England. She will keep the Sunset Rock Shop Etsy active until Mid-October. In the meantime, we are looking at swapping the website over to a new one that can handle online sales.
